                                                   S&P 500 Index

A bull market after a recession is when the S&P 500 Index is above the same price it was one year ago which can be proven on any chart. This means the economy is growing because unemployment is lower and company earnings are increasing.

The 1 year average is the average price over the past 12 months. The 1 year low is when the stock market is below the same price it was 1 year ago.

Using the month to month price instead of the day to day price erases all the zig zags you see in a chart. This causes straight lines to be formed over the long term which enables you to see the stock market trend.
